My name is Madison McRill, and this is my first post as Central Kentucky Field Coordinator at Glean Kentucky. I am so excited to be serving in this capacity. If you’ve been around for a while, we might have run into each other in the past. In early 2018, I interned at this organization during my senior year of college. I loved it so much that I served here as an AmeriCorps VISTA from 2018 to 2019. What a joy it is to be back! It has been amazing to watch Glean Kentucky grow over the last few years and an honor to be back on this team.
Previously, I’ve worked in community mental health in Panama City, Florida, with youth impacted by Hurricane Michael, a Category 5 storm that swept the panhandle in 2018. I’ve also worked in refugee resettlement here in Lexington before this position. Needless to say, I am passionate about supporting people and communities!
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, container gardening, spending time with friends, and hanging out with my 19-year-old cat, Callie.
Again, I am so excited to be back. I am genuinely passionate about the mission of Glean Kentucky. Aside from joining an extraordinary team, I am eager to dive back into this work. I have seen firsthand how this organization has served as a vital link between sources of fresh food and feeding programs in Central Kentucky. I not only consider the notion of playing a part in expanding this mission an incredible opportunity– but a privilege.
I hope to meet many of our sources, recipients, and volunteers in the coming weeks. If you see me out and about, please say hi! I would love to talk about our mission, how community members can get involved at Glean Kentucky, and learn more about you.
