Jennifer Palmer
Executive Director
Jennifer holds a BA in Fine Arts and Political Science from Cedar Crest College, an MFA in painting from the Savannah College of Artand Design, and a BA in Sustainable Agriculture from the Wendell Berry Farming Program of Sterling College. She has over 20 years of experience teaching fine art at various universities and previously served as Executive Director of a nonprofit organization dedicated to land conservation. Having transitioned to become and Extension Agent in Jefferson County, Jennifer resides on her farm in Shelby County, where she grows vegetables and flowers and rescues animals in her free time. Passionate about community engagement and fostering resilient local food systems, she brings a unique blend of artistic insight, nonprofit leadership experience and sustainable agriculture expertise to her work with communities.

Merlin Lee
Director of Digital and Community Engagement
Merlin is a creative strategist and problem solver with a BFA in Digital Art and Interactive Media from Indiana University, a PMP from the PMI, and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from CSSC. Additionally, he has almost a decade managing restaurants and over a decade of leading marketing and advertising initiatives, from strategy to design to production, for nonprofits, small businesses, and big brands’ alike. He is passionate about making a difference in the community and contributing to positive change.
Merlin is also currently pursing an MFA in Design Thinking at Radford University.

Malik McCalpine
Central Kentucky Field Coordinator
Malik McCalpine serves as the Central Kentucky Coordinator for Glean Kentucky, where he leads gleaning operations, manages volunteer engagement, and supports digital marketing and data reporting efforts. He is a graduate of Union Commonwealth University, where he served as President of the Black Student Union. Malik has prior experience with Kentuckians for the Commonwealth (KFTC) and Sodexo, gaining skills in communications, social media strategy, and community outreach. He is committed to reducing food waste and strengthening local food systems across Central Kentucky.
