It’s been such a fun Spring in South Central Kentucky! We kicked it off as a guest speaker with Lifeworks WKU. The group went grocery shopping right after our class and we heard they spent time in the produce department! This was such a wonderful experience; we plan to go back again soon.
We welcomed Hannah to the SCKY team and we’re so happy to have her! (Read her recent blog post to learn more about our new SCKY Lead Gleaner.) You’ll be seeing her out and about in the coming weeks.
WKU Earth Day was great fun, and we ran into so many friends. Former State Representative Patty Minter stopped by our booth for a visit, and we ran into one of the original people to help get Glean Kentucky going in Lexington over 14 years ago. Small world!
We are super excited to partner with the Bowling Green Hot Rods as their featured Community Partner on Friday, May 31st. Friday nights are fireworks night, and the Hot Rods will be rolling out their new uniforms. Come out and see us!
Gleaning is still in the “light” mode of winter and early spring, but we’ve managed to rescue and donate over one ton of produce!
