Working with GleanKY these last two years has been a total dream – I’ve been so grateful to put my education to work right out of school, to meet the incredible people in and around the organization, and to contribute to something so vitally important in our community. Fundraising was not necessarily where I saw myself before landing this job, but I have genuinely enjoyed being challenged by this work and seeing this role grow into something more concrete and sustainable.

During this time, I’ve had the incredible privilege of seeing my work occasionally interact with GleanKY’s plans on the programming front. Getting to help shape our long-term plans for the future has been very rewarding, and I now look forward to having a more direct role in that every day.

We have some very big plans for our future – establishing ourselves in all of Central Kentucky, and eventually continuing to expand beyond that to more and more of the state. I’m excited to see our organization rise to this challenge – just like it has to each challenge we’ve faced before – and to see the impact it makes on food insecurity and food waste in Kentucky.

If you want to be a part of our achieving these goals, please reach out to me at ben@gleanky.org – we’re learning that this work is all about relationships, and we would love to hear your voice. We’re also on the hunt for a new Development Director. If you’re interested in that, you can read more here – I’m also more than happy to answer any questions you may have about that role.
