We’re excited to introduce to you our new AmeriCorps VISTA, Madison McRill, who will be working with us for the next twelve months to conduct our annual program evaluation, improve our communication between counties, and much, much more. Read a quick message from her, saying hello!

“Hi there! My name is Madison McRill, and I am the current Community Outreach and Development Coordinator over here at GleanKY. You might have already heard from me in the past couple of months– I had the opportunity to intern with GleanKY earlier this year, fell in love, and now I’m back to serve through AmeriCorps VISTA!

I am currently finishing up my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work at Asbury University. Over the last four years, I’ve become interested in pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector, specifically in the area of food justice. I’ve become fascinated with the history and culture of Appalachia since moving here from Northwest Florida, and am excited to continue learning from the fine folks of the Bluegrass region during my service term.

In my free time, you can probably find me exploring any of the fabulous brunch spots Lexington has to offer with my pals, napping, or reading a book at a coffee shop.

For the next year, I’ll be working to improve our volunteer reach throughout surrounding counties. If you happen to see me out and about, feel free to say hello! I would love to talk about our mission, how community members can get involved at GleanKY, and learn more about you.”
