This week marked a milestone for GleanKY as we initiated our fifth chapter. Three volunteers from Winchester—Jim Willis, Julie Crum and Jan Carver—led the first Clark County gleaning on Saturday at the Winchester/Clark County Farmers’ Market. Thanks to community support and generous donations from the market’s farmers, GleanKY Clark County collected 188 pounds of produce that was delivered to the Beacon of Hope Emergency Shelter.
The group will continue to glean the farmers market on Saturdays for the remainder of the growing season. If you’d like to join them, please fill out a volunteer application to get started.
