The Edible Garden Series will hold a workshop on “Extending the Season” at Beaumont Presbyterian Church on Tuesday 13 September from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The workshop will cover winter protection options such as cold frames, mulch, heeling in, and more. Gardeners of all experience levels are welcome.

“There are a lot of creative people out there who have found clever ways tokeep their gardens producing quite late into the winter,” said John Walker, founder and coordinator of the Edible Garden Series. “We would like to hear about those experiences and discuss the pros and cons of different approaches as well as how to implement them.”

The Edible Garden Series meets about six times throughout the season and focuses especially on topics related to vegetable, fruit, and herb gardening. Registration is not required, and there is no cost to attend.

Beaumont Presbyterian Church is located at 1070 Lane Allen Road in Lexington. Parking
