Thank you Rev. Warren for getting out of bed early Saturday morning (with a cold) to let us into the church.  Beaumont Presbyterian Church has been a generous host to many Faith Feeds events, including our monthly Your Edible Garden meetings.  Our 5 Faith Feeds board members were in good company this morning as many joined us to make the seed prep party quick and relatively painless!

Bob, a Beaumont member, learned a new definition of “bean counter” this morning.  He along with Gwen, Charlotte, Eileen and Ken helped us package seeds – they are now official bean counters, pea counters, pepper counters…

Our tremendous appreciation also goes out to Janet, Janita, Will, Liz, Gayle, Donna, Heather, Annie and Mary Lynne for tackling the sometimes challenging task of counting seeds.  “I didn’t expect such tiny seeds!”, exclaimed Liz, questioning her decision to get out of bed this morning.  Lucky for Liz, we selected the smallest tomato seed variety with the largest amount to package!  Her table-mates and her great personality and attitude carried her through to the end.  The daunting task is now history.

We appreciate our relationship with our “sister non-profit”, Seedleaf  – thanks for sending over Shawn and Andy, who arrived ready to go!  And I don’t mean ready to go home 🙂  Check out the picture of Shawn in his “zen-zone”.  He proclaimed seed counting allowed his worries to melt away – next year, we can market the event as therapy!

The 4th Annual Heirloom Seed Sale will be March 17th from 8 am – 3 pm at the Woodland Christian Church, 530 East High Street, Lexington.
