The February 27th Your Edible Garden will be a hands-on workshop and discussion about how to start seeds and care for seedlings until they can be planted outside.   Gardeners of all experience levels are welcome to learn, share and network with those passionate about growing food.

“Even with the length of our growing season, many vegetables perform better if planted as established seedlings,” said John Walker, founder and coordinator of the Edible Garden network. “It’s worth the extra effort when you get the earlier yield and see how vigorous the plants are.” He added that beginning gardeners shouldn’t be intimidated by elaborate or expensive systems they may see on the market.

Your Edible Garden meets monthly on the last Monday at 6:30 p.m. for potluck dinner, followed by garden talk at 7 p.m.   Registration is not required, and there is no cost to attend.  All meetings are held at Beaumont Presbyterian Church, located at 1070 Lane Allen Road in Lexington. Parking and entrance to the fellowship hall are in the rear, off Athenia Drive. For directions, call 859-278-5062.
