Hello, I’m Malik McCalpine. I’m extremely excited to say that I’m working with Glean Kentucky as the new Central Kentucky Coordinator. I am originally from the vibrant city of Lexington, Kentucky, and a proud alumnus of Union Commonwealth University. During my time there, I had the honor of serving as the President of the Black Student Union, where I passionately advocated for inclusivity and equality on campus and in the community.

Sports have always been a significant part of my life. I balanced academics with a deep commitment to athletics, competing in both football and track and field throughout my college years. These experiences instilled in me a sense of discipline and teamwork that I carry into everything I do.

My journey towards social justice was catalyzed during a transformative internship with KFTC. This progressive experience deeply resonated with me, reinforcing the importance of advocacy and community empowerment. It solidified my dedication to advancing social justice causes, which has become a cornerstone of my personal and professional endeavors.

In my downtime, you’ll often find me in the company of my faithful companion, Echo, enjoying the outdoors. I’m also an avid writer and poet, using the power of words to express ideas and emotions. When I’m not writing, I find solace in the gym, where I challenge myself physically and mentally through weightlifting.

I look forward to connecting with each of you and continuing the journey towards a more just and compassionate community. Together, we can make a difference.
