The Edible Garden Series will hold its third workshop of the season, “Getting Ready for Spring,” at Beaumont Presbyterian Church on Saturday 16 April from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The workshop will cover bed preparation, including soil testing and amendments. Garden planning, transplanting, and frost protection will also be discussed. Gardeners of all experience levels are welcome.
“With a little preparation and planning, even the most inexperienced gardener can have great results,” said John Walker, founder and coordinator of the Edible Garden Series. “Once you find out what information you need and where to locate it, successful gardening becomes a process that makes sense rather than a mysterious gift that some people have and others don’t.”
The Edible Garden Series meets about six times throughout the season and focuses especially on topics related to vegetable, fruit, and herb gardening. Registration is not required, and there is no cost to attend. For a complete schedule, visit http://faithfeedslex.org.
