GleanKY is more than excited to partner with Aldi grocery stores in Lexington, KY! With two stores, GleanKY is able to glean twice as much for our recipients. Furthermore, we are able to increase access to produce to even more feeding organizations, ensuring that healthy fruits and vegetables are in the hands of those that most need it.

Aldi’s is a German grocery company that started business in 1914. The first American store was opened in Iowa in 1976. Aldi’s is committed to selling affordable, discounted food to its customers.

Aldi has already provided 1,000 of pounds of produce to our recipients! Here is a snapshot of the feeding organizations that receive produce from Aldi.

Monday:
Tates Creek Elementary Resource Center – A center that assists families from lower socioeconomic backgrounds with life skills. They serve approx. 150 people each week.
Embrace Church – A church located in the East End of Lexington. They host a meal a week and also have other outreach ministries involving food. Serve around 400 each month.

Wednesday:
Bob Brown House – A residence for people with mental or physical disabilities. Serve 14 residents. Three meals a day.
Moveable Feast – A nonprofit that makes and delivers meals for people living with AIDS/HIV. 100 daily meals prepared.
