This past week, Faith Feeds volunteers gleaned about 700 lbs of produce from the Lexington Farmers Market and Reed Valley Orchard. The produce went to LaRoca, the Men’s and Women’s Hope Centers, and the Catholic Action Center.

Although it hampered this week’s harvest, gardeners at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection rejoiced in Saturday’s rain. Earlier in the week, some 10 lbs of produce was harvested and distributed to needy families.

We also had word that Porter Memorial Baptist has harvested over 500 lbs of squash, “gobs of tomatoes,” and more than 8 bushels of beans from their garden this season. They have shared this bounty with Lexington Rescue Mission, Lighthouse Ministries, the Nicholasville Methodist Church, LaRoca, and needy families within the congregation.

We give thanks for all who have been called to put their hands to this work!
