This week, Faith Feeds volunteers collected and distributed over 1,000 lbs. — half a ton! — of fresh produce! In addition to the regular collection from the many weekly farmers markets around Lexington, Faith Feeds received the following donations from local farmers: Many, many thanks to our donors, volunteers, and recipients (who have to find somewhere to put all this food)!

Only 1 week into June and already over 100 pounds of produce gleaned from the Lexington and Bluegrass Farmers Markets and given to hunger / emergency food agencies. Faith Feeds will begin the 2011 gleaning season on Sunday, May 1, at the Lexington Farmers Market.  Thereafter, we will be gleaning that market every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday until sometime in October or November (depending on the weather).
