Do you want to jumpstart a gleaning effort in your area? By gleaning under the GleanKY umbrella, you’ll receive the guidance and support you need to be successful without having to reinvent the wheel. We acknowledge that hunger and food waste look different in different parts of the state, so we rely on our chapters to understand their communities’ feeding landscape, while we provide the tools, resources and brand integrity you need to carry out the work effectively.
Our GleanKY chapters typically follow a county model, where food is gleaned and redistributed within county lines. It’s important to us that gleaned food stay within the communities where it was grown whenever possible. However, we also recognize that hunger isn’t contained by borders, and often our chapters will work together to rescue food excess and deliver it to those who need it.
To inquire about starting a chapter, email our Program Director. To volunteer with an already established chapter, reach out to one of our Chapter Coordinators, whose contact information is listed on the designated chapter page found under the “Chapters” section of the navigation bar.
