2017 Volunteer Training Dates!

Do you want to become a gleaner? In order to accomplish GleanKY’s mission of preventing food waste and nourishing Kentuckians, we rely on the help of our dedicated volunteer base—people like you! This year, we’ll be holding nine volunteer trainings in eight different counties to help expand the reach of our work.

Volunteer Training Schedule

FEB. 23 – FAYETTE CO.
at The Plantory
(501 West 6th St., Suite 250, Lexington)

MAR. 23 – SCOTT CO.
at Grace Christian’s Student Center
(1648 Lexington Rd., Georgetown)

APR. 27 – FRANKLIN CO.
at Good Shepherd Catholic Church
(72 Shepherd Way, Frankfort)

MAY 23 – MADISON CO.
at the Berea Farmers Market
(419 Chestnut St., Berea)

JUN. 29 – CLARK CO.
(location TBD)

JUL. 27 – BOURBON CO.
(location TBD)

AUG. 31 – WOODFORD CO.
(location TBD)

SEP. 28 JESSAMINE CO.
(location TBD)

OCT. 26 – FAYETTE CO.
(location TBD)

All trainings take place 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. and will include:

  • an introduction to our staff and county coordinators
  • how our gleaning model works
  • ways you can plug in
  • how to sign up to volunteer

Anyone who signs up for a gleaning slot at the time of the training will receive their free GleanKY shirt. If you sign up at another time, you’ll receive your shirt during your on-site orientation.
